By SkyeAshly -
Gigantic media conglomerates at a stand-off with so much at stake and no end in sight. The WGA and AMPTP impasse
has cost the jobs of many thousands of entertainment industry workers and more will lose their jobs every day the
strike continues. And the strike has left monster effects on other businesses that are normally utilized by the
motion picture and television industry on a daily basis. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers
(AMPTP) walked away from the bargaining table on December 7th and Writer's Guild of America (WGA) are still waiting

The Importance of Being Editor

Laura Douglas, Redeye Professional Post |
By DianeLigon
Editing. At its best, it's rarely noticed. At its worst, it's noticed by some with film experience, but more
often the viewer will not like the whole piece and not know why. As we all know, in life in general, knowing
when to start and when to stop is a key ingredient, whether it's in a comedy gag, a sales pitch, talking to a
friend, or in telling a story. How successful we are in life depends partly on our ability to know how to edit
our communication. Many don't realize that how well a film is edited can make the difference between a disaster
and a fine piece of work which is a success.
Of course, much depends on the quality of the raw footage to begin with. Yet, with experience and good judgment,
a seasoned editor can take poor quality footage and make the best of it. An inexperienced editor can ruin a film
which had fantastic raw footage. iCOM is proud to present to you three companies who have won many prestigious
awards and have a client list that speaks to their ability to perform well not only in editing, but in other
aspects of film production as well.

The story of Manor Texas High School's production of Romeo and Juliet:
Story and Photos By JerryJackson
I need to repeat that the reason I wanted to report on this high school play because the exchange student who
lives with me, Sardar Ahmed, from Karachi Pakistan was in the play. The greatest achievement of this project
was giving Sardar the incredible camaraderie with his fellow students. It was a real treat for him, but it
was also a lot of hard work.
